The black panels on the robot folded out to form a ramp for alliance members. This robot also had a mechanism that was built to pick up and transfer disks to their designated goals, which we referred to as 'the beak.' ^ To Top 2020-21 - Infinite Recharge This year's robot was constructed to score cargo in the high and low goals while also being able to hang from anywhere on the endgame see-saw structure. In 2020, we had a large team and were able to distribute tasks, allowing for the construction of an efficient and dependable robot. In 2021, due to the pandemic, the game repeated for a year and hosted virtual challenges for teams to compete in. As our team had shrunk considerably and our meetings were limited during the pandemic, we were unable to participate in the offered challenges. ^ To Top 2022 - Rapid React This year's robot was built to climb diagonal bars, referred to as the hangar, in the endgame of each match. It was made to reach the fourth bar, but could easily reach any of the other three. We chose to focus on the hangar because of the rank points that could be gained from it. If two robots hung on the bars and earned 15 points from them total, rank points could be gained. Although this game had balls to shoot into goals, we chose to focus on hanging with our lack of team members from COVID-19. In the post-season, there were plans to create a simple shooter for the low goal, but other aspects of the robot were prioritized, such as stabilizing the belly pan, for our conference's off-season event. ^ To Top 2023 - Charged Up Coming soon :) ^ To Top

  • About FIRST | Robojacks 4674

About FIRST FIRST, which stands for For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology, is an organization that was founded by Dean Kamen in 1989 that is driven to inspire young people to enter STEM fields through its robotics programs. The program helps children of all ages to become science and technology leaders with well-rounded skill sets through hands-on learning, teamwork, mentorship from adults in STEM fields, and more. FIRST has six core values that its teams exemplify: discovery, innovation, impact, inclusion, teamwork, and fun. Through these values, FIRST teams perpetuate a culture of equity, diversity, and inclusion for all of their members. Two other terms lie at the core of FIRST's ethos: Gracious Professionalism and Coopertition. According to the FIRST website, "With Gracious Professionalism, fierce competition and mutual gain are not separate notions. Gracious professionals learn and compete like crazy but treat one another with respect and kindness in the process." Coopertition is the idea that teams should help and cooperate with one another, even as they compete against each other on the field. With these core concepts, FIRST team members are driven to become kind, respectful, competitive, and well-rounded people that are more prepared to enter adulthood and the workforce. At Bemidji High School, we participate in the FIRST Robotics Competition. In this program, we design, program, and build robots from scratch to compete against other teams in a game that changes annually. Although we are focused on building the best robot we can, we also have other objectives, such as gaining grants and sponsorships to support our team, becoming involved in our community through outreach events to spread the message of FIRST, and creating a team identity through our branding and behavior. Visit the FIRST website here

  • About the NMRC | Robojacks 4674

About the NMRC According to its website, the NMRC, or Northern Minnesota Robotics Conference, "was created by regional high school robotics teams to provide a competitive structure for the co-opertition and growth of robotics in Northern Minnesota." Established in 2017, the NMRC has given 34 FIRST Robotics teams from Minnesota and North Dakota the opportunity to participate in events such as annual summer programming camps, Week 0 skirmishes, NMRC Championship Tournaments, and more. The Conference works to bring credibility and recognition to its teams through its status as the first robotics conference to be officially recognized by the Minnesota State High School League. Visit the NMRC's official website here NMRC Events in Bemidji 2018 Conference Championship @ Bemidji State University 2018-23 Programming Camp @ Bemidji State University 2021 NMRC Invitational @ Bemidji Sanford Center 2023 Week 0 Skirmish @ Bemidji High School 2024 NMRC Conference Championship and Open @ Bemidji High School
